a) To take over the activities, functions, assets and liabilities of Sri Lanka Consolidators Association. b) To promote, protect and develop the business of logistics service providers. c) To affect an interchange of ideas, information and business methods with the object of enhancing the efficiency and usefulness of the logistics service industry. d) To represent and advocate the views of the association to the government authorities concerned. e) To guard against the withdrawal or curtailment of privileges and to make representation in this connection to any person, body or authority on any matter affecting the interest of the business of logistics service providers. f) To act as arbitrators in and otherwise to assist in the settlement of dispute arising between members and second or third parties in connection with the business of logistics services providers or similar transaction or business. g) To act as negotiating body for members of the association or with the approval of the association, for any person, body or company for the transaction of any business connected therewith. h) To provide a meeting place or meeting places for its members and to bring together person engaged or connected with the business of logistics services providers so that they may, by co-operate and mutual exchange of ideas and views, advance the interest of the members. |

The Association obtained the membership of the Sri Lanka Shippers Council and the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. The Association also appointed the National Chamber as its administrative secretaries to handle all administrative and secretarial matters during the year. Sri Lanka Logistics Providers Association (SLLPA), members have been associated with moving shipments around the world while providing the import/export industry with much sort out IT solutions for visibility & management of freight movements around the globe. This has helped many a overseas customers in the fashion/retail or general department stores business to seriously consider Sri Lanka as a reliable origin to source products, due to the availability of such value added services. The association that consist of 13-reputed member companies conduct its business in a professional manner. Members are only accepted to the association after careful evaluation of financials and also the very important, all liability insurance cover for “goods in transit” while in its possession. The association operates independently of any other related associations and also largely involve in cargo consolidation and the ocean freight aspects of international transportation, not forgetting the important air product which most remember. |
